Our Reviews Policy

SmileCompare publishes only real, verified patient reviews. We never publish sample, stock or AI-generated reviews. This page explains where our reviews come from, how we verify and moderate them, our position on incentives, and how a patient can request removal of their own review.
How reviews are sourced
When we display reviews, they are drawn from three sources:
- Trustpilot — independently hosted reviews of SmileCompare Ltd.
- Google — public Google Business Profile reviews of partner clinics.
- Direct patient feedback — reviews submitted to SmileCompare by patients we have introduced to a partner clinic.
Verification process
Direct reviews are only published once we have confirmed the reviewer was introduced to the named clinic via SmileCompare. We match the reviewer's email or phone number against our enquiry records and confirm a treatment date with the clinic before the review is published. Reviews we cannot verify are not published. Trustpilot and Google reviews carry the verification status assigned by those platforms.
Moderation policy
We do not edit or remove negative reviews. A review is only removed if it breaches the hosting platform's content policy, contains personally identifiable information about a third party, includes unlawful or defamatory content, or is shown to be fraudulent. Every moderation decision is logged with a timestamp and the moderator's name in an internal audit log.
Incentives
SmileCompare does not currently offer any incentive — financial or otherwise — in exchange for leaving a review. If this ever changes, any incentivised review will carry a clear disclosure label beneath it, and this policy will be updated to reflect the nature of the incentive.
Requesting removal of your own review
If you submitted a review directly to SmileCompare and would like it removed, email info@smilecompare.co.uk from the address used to submit it. We will remove the review within 5 working days and confirm by email. For reviews hosted on Trustpilot or Google, please use that platform's own removal process — we cannot remove reviews on your behalf from third-party platforms.
Reporting a review
If you believe a published review breaches this policy, use the "Report this review" link beneath it, or email info@smilecompare.co.uk. Reports are reviewed independently of the clinic concerned.
